Job Title - SA9 Capsule Operator

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Shift In-Charge

Job Summary

The SA9 Capsule Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the SA9 capsule filling machine to ensure safe, efficient, and GMP-compliant production of pharmaceutical capsules. The operator performs machine setup, operation, cleaning, documentation, and basic troubleshooting while maintaining product quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the SA9 capsule filling machine according to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Perform machine setup, adjustment, and changeover for different products and batch sizes.

• Ensure accurate capsule filling and maintain product quality throughout production.

• Monitor machine performance and identify any abnormalities during operation.

• Carry out line clearance before and after production.

• Record production data, machine parameters, and batch details accurately in GMP documents.

• Perform cleaning and sanitization of equipment as per SOPs.

• Conduct basic preventive maintenance and report equipment issues to the maintenance team.

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and safety procedures.

• Minimize material wastage and maximize production efficiency.

• Coordinate with Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and maintenance teams during production activities.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and EHS guidelines.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of capsule filling machine operation.

• Understanding of GMP, GDP, and pharmaceutical manufacturing practices.

• Ability to read and follow SOPs and Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR).

• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Attention to detail and quality awareness.

• Good communication and teamwork.

• Time management and ability to work in shifts.

• Basic computer and documentation skills.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma in Pharmacy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience

• 3 and above years of experience operating capsule filling machines in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment..

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing/cleanroom environment.

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.

• It is a Full Time Manufacturing job for candidates with 2 - 6 years of experience.
