Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Retort Operator + Canning Executive to manage retort processing and canning operations in our food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in retort sterilization, canning processes, production operations, and food safety practices. The role involves operating retort equipment, monitoring process parameters, ensuring product quality, and maintaining production records while complying with food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor retort machines for food sterilization and thermal processing.
Perform canning operations, including filling, sealing, and handling of canned products.
Ensure proper retort cycle parameters such as temperature, pressure, and processing time.
Monitor production activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Conduct routine inspections of retort equipment and report any operational issues.
Maintain accurate production, sterilization, and process records.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and company quality procedures.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
Perform cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of retort and canning equipment.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality.
Requirements
ITI/Diploma/Graduate in Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in retort operations, canning, or food processing.
Experience in the Manufacturing, FMCG, or Food Industry is preferred.
Knowledge of retort sterilization processes, canning operations, and thermal processing.
Understanding of food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and hygiene practices.
Ability to monitor production parameters and maintain process documentation.
Basic knowledge of machine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
