Job Summary The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems to ensure that gear pumps and related components meet customer, regulatory, and international standards. The role focuses on process control, defect prevention, customer satisfaction, compliance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. Responsibilities . Quality Management System (QMS) Develop, implement, and maintain QMS in compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards. Ensure adherence to internal quality policies, procedures, and work instructions. Lead internal audits, external audits, and certification activities. Establish quality objectives and monitor performance against KPIs. 2. Incoming, In‑Process & Final Inspection Oversee inspection of raw materials, bought‑out components, castings, forgings, and machined parts. Ensure in‑process inspection at machining, assembly, and testing stages. Approve final inspection, functional testing, pressure testing, and performance testing of gear pumps. Ensure calibration and maintenance of all measuring instruments and gauges. 3. Process Control & Problem Solving Implement and monitor SPC, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans. Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Why, and Pareto tools. Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate defects. Reduce rejections, rework, and customer complaints. 4. Customer Quality Assurance Handle customer complaints, quality concerns, and warranty issues. Coordinate with customers for audits, approvals, and product validations. Prepare and submit quality reports, PPAPs, and compliance documents. Improve customer satisfaction through proactive quality improvements. 5. Supplier Quality Management Develop and evaluate suppliers based on quality performance. Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with quality standards. Work closely with Procurement for supplier development and improvement. Monitor incoming rejections and supplier corrective actions. 6. New Product Development & Change Management Support NPD activities including prototype validation and process qualification. Review drawings, specifications, and quality requirements for new gear pump models. Approve process changes, design changes, and deviation requests. 7. Team Management & Training Lead and mentor QA/QC Inspectors, Engineers, and Quality Executives. Plan and conduct quality training across production teams. Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement culture on the shop floor. 8. Compliance, Documentation & Reporting Maintain quality documentation, SOPs, inspection records, and reports. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, statutory and safety requirements. Prepare MIS reports on quality performance, rejection trends, and improvements.
