Core Responsibilities
1. Inspection & Testing
Incoming Material Inspection: Check raw materials, components, or third-party deliverables prior to production/use.
In-Process Checking: Perform routine checks during production/development to catch errors early.
Final Product Inspection: Conduct end-to-end testing against engineering specs, user stories, or product standard guidelines.
2. Defect Management & Reporting
Identify & Tag Defects: Formally document defects, non-conformances, or deviations with clear descriptions, photos, logs, or reproduction steps.
Isolate Non-Conforming Items: Quarantining defective physical batches or flagging failing software builds to prevent accidental release.
Defect Tracking: Log items into defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira for software, NCR logs for manufacturing).
3. Root Cause Analysis & Resolution
Investigate Issues: Work with engineering, production, or development teams using root cause techniques (5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams).
Verify Corrective Actions: Re-inspect items post-repair or re-test bug fixes to confirm the issue is fully resolved.
4. Compliance & Documentation
Maintain Records: Document test results, audit trail logs, certificates of analysis (CoA), and calibration records.
Adhere to Standards: Ensure compliance with industry-specific standards (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, FDA, IEEE).
Equipment & Tool Calibration: Ensure testing instruments, software testing environments, or measuring devices are calibrated and functioning properly.
