Quality Inspector

Job Responsibilities

Perform incoming, in-process and final inspection of fabrication and welding components.

Inspect fabricated parts as per drawing, specifications and customer quality requirements.

Verify dimensions, tolerances and geometry using measuring instruments such as:

Vernier Caliper

Micrometer

Height Gauge

Measuring Tape

Bevel Protractor

Weld Gauges

Other applicable inspection instruments

Inspect welding quality including:

Weld size and profile

Weld appearance

Undercut

Porosity

Cracks

Spatter

Lack of fusion

Weld penetration

Distortion

Verify welding parameters, joint preparation and welding sequence as applicable.

Check material identification, part traceability and heat/batch details.

Verify fabrication dimensions against approved drawings, control plans and inspection standards.

Identify and segregate OK / NG / Rework parts.

Prepare inspection reports, dimensional reports and rejection/rework reports.

Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.

Coordinate with Production, Welding, Engineering and Quality teams for defect resolution.

Support Root Cause Analysis, CAPA and corrective actions for recurring defects.

Ensure proper identification and segregation of non-conforming material.

Monitor quality at each stage to reduce rejection, rework and customer complaints.

Support customer inspection, TPI inspection and final dispatch inspection when required.

Follow company safety, quality and 5S requirements.
