Here is the Quality Line Inspector – Roles & Responsibilities in 10 professional points:
Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspection of machined components as per engineering drawings and process requirements.
Check dimensions using Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Dial Indicator, and other precision measuring instruments.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T, and customer specifications.
Verify critical dimensions, surface finish, thread quality, and visual appearance of parts during production.
Maintain accurate inspection reports, measurement records, and traceability documents.
Identify and segregate non-conforming or rejected parts and inform the Production and Quality team immediately.
Monitor production processes and ensure machine setups are approved before mass production starts.
Ensure all measuring instruments are calibrated and used according to quality standards.
Follow AS9100D / ISO 9001, FOD control, safety, and 5S requirements on the shop floor.
Coordinate with operators, setters, production supervisors, and quality engineers to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence of defects.
