Job Description – Design Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Design Engineer with experience in the valve and flow-control industry. The role involves designing, developing, and improving valve products to meet customer requirements, industry standards, and performance expectations. The candidate will work closely with the production, quality, and sales teams to deliver reliable and innovative engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and develop valves (Gate, Globe, Check, Ball, Butterfly, and Specialty Valves) in compliance with ASME/API/ISO standards.
· Prepare 3D models, detailed drawings, and BOM using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, etc.).
· Conduct design calculations, material selection, stress analysis, and performance validation.
· Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
· Review customer specifications and provide technical solutions.
· Support prototype development, testing, and product qualification.
· Drive continuous improvement in existing designs for performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
· Maintain design documentation, revision control, and technical reports.
Key Skills Required:
· Strong knowledge of valve design principles and flow dynamics.
· Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or equivalent).
· Understanding of metallurgy, pressure ratings, and sealing technologies.
· Familiarity with casting, forging, and fabrication processes.
· Knowledge of relevant standards: API, ASME, BS, ISO, PED.
· Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation.
· Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
· 2–5 years of relevant experience in valve design engineering.
· Familiarity with industry codes/standards (ASME, API, ISO, etc.) is required.
· Experience in valve, piping, fabrication, or industrial equipment design will be preferred.
· Hands-on experience in the valve industry is highly desirable.
