Quality Control Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join our team at Sunrise Consultancy. The role involves operating machinery, assembling products and maintaining quality standards on the production floor. This position offers an in-hand salary of ₹18,000 - ₹23,000 and an opportunity to be part of a growing and essential industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment

• Assemble, pack and inspect products as per company guidelines

• Maintain records and manage tool room inventory

• Perform preventive maintenance to avoid downtime

• Ensure safety and quality standards are followed

• Collaborate with teams for tool improvements and new mold trials

Job Requirements:

The minimum qualification for this role is Diploma and 0 - 4 years of experience in manufacturing or a related field. Attention to detail, physical stamina and ability to follow instructions are very important for this role.

Quality Inspection & Testing:

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical components

• Use measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.

• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications

Quality Control Processes:

• Develop and implement quality control plans and inspection procedures

• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards

• Conduct first article inspection (FAI) and process validation

Defect Analysis & Problem Solving:

• Identify root causes of defects using tools like 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis

• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

• Coordinate with production and design teams for quality improvement

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain inspection reports, quality records, and test documentation

• Prepare NCR (Non-Conformance Reports) and quality reports

• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and audit requirements

Supplier Quality:

• Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance

• Conduct supplier audits and incoming material inspections

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

• Knowledge of quality tools: 7 QC Tools, SPC, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing

• Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings

• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments

• Basic knowledge of materials like steel, plastics, engineering polymers (POM, ABS, Nylon, PC)

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in automobile / injection molding / engineering plastics industry

• Knowledge of IoT-based inspection systems (optional)

• Good problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• First-pass yield improvement

• Customer complaints reduction

• Supplier quality performance
