The Mould Die QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the dimensional and functional quality of moulds and dies manufactured in the tool room. The role involves inspecting, verifying, and validating components as per drawings and tolerances using precision measuring instruments and supporting the tool manufacturing team in achieving quality standards.
Inspection Activities:
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of moulds and die components.
Verify critical dimensions and tolerances as per engineering drawings.
Quality Control:
Maintain and update quality control documents, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports.
Identify defects or deviations and ensure proper corrective and preventive actions are taken.
Tool Room Support:
Work closely with toolmakers, machinists, and design engineers to resolve quality issues.
Support rework/modification activities with technical inputs.
Measurement Tools Handling:
Use precision instruments like Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge, CMM, etc.
Ensure measuring tools are calibrated and used correctly.
Documentation:
Maintain inspection reports, measurement records, and customer approval documents.
Follow QMS (Quality Management System) procedures and documentation protocols.
Root Cause Analysis:
Investigate quality issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company-specific quality systems.
Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Experience with CMM and other precision measuring tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of ISO/TS/QMS documentation practices
Good communication and coordination abilities
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Tool & Die Engineering
Experience: 2–5 years in Tool Room QC (mould/die industry preferred)
