Job Description

Job Purpose:

To ensure all components manufactured meet required specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements through effective quality control processes, inspections, and testing. The role involves developing and implementing QC procedures, identifying non-conformities, and driving continuous improvement in product quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.   Inspection & Testing

o  Perform incoming raw material inspection (resistive wire, ceramic rods, coatings, terminals, etc.).

o  Conduct in-process and final inspection of resistors (ohmic value, tolerance, temperature coefficient, wattage rating, physical dimensions, etc.).

o  Use measuring instruments such as LCR meters, multimeters, microscopes, and automated test equipment.

o  Ensure resistors comply with IEC, MIL, IS, or customer-specific standards.

2.   Quality Assurance & Documentation

o  Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test records, and calibration logs.

o  Develop quality control checklists, SOPs, and sampling plans (AQL standards).

o  Maintain ISO/TS quality system documentation and ensure compliance with audits.

3.   Process Control

o  Monitor production processes (winding, coating, curing, marking, etc.) to identify variations.

o  Work with production to implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).

o  Ensure Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques are applied for critical parameters.

4.   Failure Analysis & Improvement

o  Investigate customer complaints and internal rejections to identify root causes.

o  Conduct failure analysis (electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests).

o  Recommend process or design improvements to enhance product reliability.

5.   Compliance & Standards

o  Ensure compliance with relevant international standards (IEC 60062, IEC 60115, JIS, or MIL standards).

o  Support internal and external audits (customer & certification bodies).

6.   Team Support & Training

o  Train operators and inspectors on QC methods and tools.

o  Work closely with R&D for qualification of new resistor designs.

o  Support production team in implementing quality best practices.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 2–5 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance in electronic component manufacturing (preferably resistor, capacitor, or passive components industry).

  • Fresh graduates with strong academic background may be considered for trainee positions.

 

Performance Metrics (KPIs):

  • Reduction in rejection/rework rate.

  • Customer complaint resolution time.

  • Compliance in internal/external quality audits.

  • Accuracy and timeliness of QC reporting.

  • Contribution to process improvement initiatives.
