Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Quality & Production Engineer to manage day-to-day shop-floor manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, and quality-control activities.

The role is responsible for achieving daily production targets while maintaining strict quality standards across incoming materials, manufacturing processes, assembly, testing, and final dispatch.

The ideal candidate should combine strong production management, quality-control, troubleshooting, RCA/CAPA, Lean Manufacturing, and team-leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

  • Plan and monitor daily production schedules.

  • Prioritize urgent and critical production orders.

  • Track availability of raw materials, components, and assemblies.

  • Coordinate with technicians and other departments to ensure uninterrupted production.

  • Identify and resolve production delays and bottlenecks.

  • Monitor daily production output against planned targets.

2. Quality Inspection — IQC, IPQC & FQC

  • Conduct Incoming Quality Control (IQC) for raw materials and purchased components.

  • Inspect sheet metal, motors, electrical components, control panels, hardware, and other incoming materials.

  • Perform In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) during fabrication and assembly.

  • Conduct Final Quality Control (FQC) before product dispatch.

  • Ensure products meet defined dimensional, functional, electrical, mechanical, and performance requirements.

3. Product Testing & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose failures and defects in completed electromechanical assemblies.

  • Troubleshoot issues involving:

    • Mechanical alignment

    • Motors

    • Gear mechanisms

    • Control panels

    • Wiring

    • Sensors

    • Fabrication

    • Assembly

  • Coordinate with production and technical teams to implement effective solutions.

  • Verify corrective actions through appropriate testing procedures.

4. Root Cause Analysis & CAPA

  • Investigate recurring production and product-quality issues.

  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using tools such as:

    • 5 Why Analysis

    • Fishbone/Ishikawa Diagram

    • Pareto Analysis

    • Check Sheets

    • Other applicable 7 QC Tools

  • Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

  • Monitor corrective actions to ensure problems do not recur.

5. Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency.

  • Reduce:

    • Material wastage

    • Rework

    • Waiting time

    • Unnecessary movement

    • Production downtime

  • Improve workstation layouts and material flow.

  • Support continuous-improvement initiatives across the shop floor.

6. Team Leadership

  • Supervise and guide shop-floor technicians and assembly personnel.

  • Allocate daily work assignments according to production priorities.

  • Monitor employee productivity and work quality.

  • Ensure technicians follow approved processes and work instructions.

  • Promote teamwork, discipline, productivity, and accountability.

7. Safety & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with shop-floor safety procedures.

  • Maintain daily production records and quality reports.

  • Maintain inspection and testing documentation.

  • Track non-conforming materials and products.

  • Coordinate with procurement regarding rejected or non-conforming incoming materials.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in production and quality control.

  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing, sheet-metal fabrication, electromechanical assembly, or industrial automation.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • IQC, IPQC & FQC

    • 7 QC Tools

    • RCA

    • 5 Why

    • Fishbone Analysis

    • CAPA

    • Lean Manufacturing

    • Production planning

    • Quality inspection procedures

  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical testing equipment/instruments.

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assembly issues.

  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-management skills.

  • Strong focus on quality, productivity, safety, and meeting production targets.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in industrial automation, automatic gates/doors, rolling shutters, barriers, sheet-metal fabrication, electromechanical products, or machinery manufacturing will be preferred.

A proactive and hands-on engineer who can effectively manage the complete Production + Quality + Troubleshooting cycle, lead shop-floor teams, eliminate recurring defects, improve manufacturing efficiency, and ensure that finished products meet Toshi's required quality standards.
