We are looking for a skilled Fabrication Quality Engineer to ensure the quality of fabricated components and welded assemblies. The candidate should have hands-on experience in fabrication inspection, drawing interpretation, measurement techniques, and quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect fabricated components and welded assemblies as per engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and welding symbols.
Verify dimensions using measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and Measuring Tapes.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process inspection, and final inspection.
Prepare and maintain quality reports, inspection records, and checklists.
Identify quality issues and coordinate with production for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Handle non-conformance reports (NCR) and root cause analysis.
Monitor welding quality and fabrication processes.
Support internal and customer quality audits.
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality management standards and safety procedures.
Required Skills
Knowledge of fabrication and welding inspection.
Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints.
Good understanding of GD&T and welding symbols.
Experience in handling measuring instruments.
Knowledge of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, CAPA, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 documentation.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualification
Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
Experience
2–3 years of experience in fabrication quality inspection or manufacturing quality.
Preferred Candidate
Experience in sheet metal, structural fabrication, or heavy fabrication industries.
Immediate joiners will be preferred.
