Purchase and Projects –  Role Statement and Selection Criteria

 

                 

Position Title: Sr. Executive / AM – Purchase and Projects

Company :Interiors Company

 

Location:  Gurgaon

Reports to:  Head of Business

Primary Objective:

  • Responsible for managing the procurement process, with a significant focus on international sourcing, particularly from China. To ensure timely acquisition of quality materials and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support the manufacturing operations.

 

Key Result Areas

Procurement:

·       Identify, evaluate, and develop supplier relationships, particularly in China, to procure quality materials at competitive prices.

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with international suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.​

·       Handle import documentation, logistics, and compliance with international trade regulations​

  • Manage relationships with local suppliers to procure materials and services essential for production.​Conduct market research to identify and onboard reliable vendors.

Supplier and Inventory Management:

·       Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve any supply chain issues.

·       Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and ensure optimal stock management.

·       Coordinate with the production and sales teams to forecast material requirements accurately.​

Quality Assurance:

·       Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure materials meet company standards.

·       Address and resolve any issues related to supplier quality discrepancies.​

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of purchases, agreements, and supplier communications.​

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.

Project Management

·       Monitor project timelines and procurement schedules to align with business objectives.

·       Coordinate with the production, sales, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution.

·       Monitor project progress and address any delays or bottlenecks

Qualification, Skills and Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

3-6 years of experience in procurement and project management, preferably in the construction or interiors industry.

  • Experience in international sourcing, with a focus on Chinese markets, is preferred.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and compliance requirements
