Purchase Manager

1. Procurement Planning & Strategy

   • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and production schedules.

   • Forecast material requirements based on sales and production plans.

2. Vendor Development & Management

   • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components, fabrication items, and other manufacturing essentials.

   • Conduct supplier audits and maintain vendor performance records.

3. Purchase Execution

   • Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and agreements.

   • Ensure timely procurement of raw materials such as steel, bearings, motors, gearboxes, chains, conveyor belts, welding consumables, etc.

   • Source special/customized components for project-specific material handling equipment.

4. Negotiation & Cost Control

   • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.

   • Analyze market trends to secure the best procurement deals.

5. Inventory Coordination

   • Collaborate with stores and production teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.

   • Avoid stockouts or overstock situations through effective planning.

6. Compliance & Documentation

   • Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements.

   • Maintain accurate purchase records, contracts, and supplier databases.

7. Coordination & Communication

   • Liaise with engineering, production, and project teams to ensure material availability as per technical specifications.

   • Handle import procurement (if applicable), including customs clearance and logistics coordination.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.

• 5–10 years of procurement experience in heavy engineering, material handling, or industrial equipment manufacturing.

• Strong knowledge of fabrication materials, mechanical/electrical components, and vendor markets.

• Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Office, and procurement software.

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
