Job Summary:
The Purchase Officer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services required by the organization. The role ensures timely supply, cost efficiency, and adherence to company standards and policies. The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of supply chain management, and excellent vendor relationship capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, support, reliability, and selection.
Request and compare quotations, negotiate terms, and issue purchase orders.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and dispatch of materials.
Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
Assist in the development of purchasing strategies to secure cost-effective deals.
Resolve any supply issues or discrepancies with orders and deliveries.
Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and seek out new suppliers.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Purchase Officer, Procurement Officer, or similar role (1–3 years preferred).
Knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and software (e.g., SAP, Tally, Tally Prime).
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Time management and organizational skills.
