The Purchase Executive will be responsible for end-to-end procurement activities for raw materials, consumables, tooling, spares, and services required for manufacturing operations. The role demands strong knowledge of cost break-ups, BOM costing, vendor negotiation, and commercial terms, ensuring cost optimization without compromising quality and delivery.
Execute purchase of raw materials, bought-out parts, consumables, tools, spares, and services as per production requirements.
Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) in line with approvals and company policies.
Ensure timely availability of material to support uninterrupted production.
Analyze price break-ups including material cost, conversion cost, overheads, packing, transportation, taxes, and margins.
Perform BOM costing and compare vendor quotations for cost competitiveness.
Identify cost reduction opportunities through value engineering, alternate sourcing, and negotiation.
Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors as per quality and commercial requirements.
Conduct price negotiations, finalize commercial terms, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and performance.
Ensure compliance with GST, freight terms, incoterms, and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with Accounts for invoice matching, GRN, and payment processing.
Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor files, and rate contracts.
Regular follow-up with suppliers for on-time delivery.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, and Accounts for smooth material flow.
Handle material shortages, rejections, and supplier escalations.
Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels and consumption patterns.
Avoid excess inventory and minimize material shortages.
Strong knowledge of costing, price break-ups, and commercial negotiations.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably auto-component industry.
Ability to read drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications (preferred).
ERP knowledge (SAP / Tally / any Purchase ERP preferred).
Analytical mindset with cost-saving orientation.
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Engineering / Supply Chain / Management.
2–5 years of experience in manufacturing purchase, preferably in auto or engineering industry.
Experience in auto components, sheet metal, fabrication, tooling, or plastic/foam parts.
Exposure to multi-plant purchasing and vendor development.
