About the Role
We are looking for a Purchase Executive to manage day-to-day procurement operations, including vendor coordination, purchase order management, delivery follow-ups and sourcing of mechanical components.
The role requires a hands-on procurement professional who can work closely with vendors, R&D and production teams, understand BOM requirements and mechanical drawings, and effectively manage procurement activities using Excel and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vendor Coordination & Procurement
Coordinate with vendors for RFQs, order placement, follow-ups and delivery tracking.
Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms and other commercial conditions.
Develop and maintain the vendor database and vendor performance records.
Resolve vendor-related issues including delivery delays, quality concerns and quantity discrepancies.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through effective sourcing and negotiations.
Build strong relationships with existing suppliers and identify potential new vendors.
2. Purchase Planning & Order Management
Raise and track Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP against BOM and material requirements.
Maintain accurate PO logs, price history and procurement tracking sheets in Excel.
Coordinate with R&D and Production to align procurement with BOM requirements and production schedules.
Monitor open POs and proactively follow up to prevent material shortages and production delays.
Ensure timely availability of required materials, components and parts.
3. Technical Procurement
Read and interpret mechanical/engineering drawings to understand component specifications, dimensions and tolerances.
Coordinate with R&D regarding drawing revisions and changes.
Clarify technical specifications and drawing requirements with suppliers.
Ensure vendors understand part specifications before order confirmation.
Support incoming quality checks by coordinating inspection against approved drawings and specifications when required.
4. Documentation & MIS
Maintain procurement records, vendor quotations, comparative statements and purchase documentation.
Maintain price history and supplier performance data.
Prepare procurement reports and tracking MIS using Excel.
Ensure accurate and timely updating of purchase information in the ERP system.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must Have
2–4 years of experience in Purchase / Procurement.
Experience in automotive, auto components or mechanical manufacturing is preferred.
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and tracking sheets.
Ability to read and understand mechanical/engineering drawings.
Strong vendor negotiation, coordination and follow-up skills.
Good understanding of purchase orders, BOMs and procurement processes.
Willingness to work from Faridabad, NCR.
Good to Have
Experience with Odoo or similar ERP systems.
Exposure to the automotive / auto-component industry.
Experience sourcing mechanical components and fabricated/machined parts.
Basic understanding of GD&T, tolerances and engineering drawing specifications.
Experience working with R&D, production and quality teams.
