Position: Quality Engineer – Project Company: Johnson Controls (or Johnson Controls–type projects) Location: Project Sites / Regional Reporting To: Project Quality Manager / Project Manager Job Description - The Quality Engineer – Project is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities across Johnson Controls project execution. The role ensures compliance with company standards, project specifications, international codes, and customer requirements throughout the project lifecycle—from design review to commissioning and handover. Key Responsibilities : Project Quality Planning Develop and implement Project Quality Plans (PQP) in line with Johnson Controls Quality Management System. Ensure quality requirements are integrated into project schedules, method statements, and execution plans. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to align quality objectives. Quality Assurance & Control Conduct incoming material inspections, ensuring compliance with approved submittals and specifications. Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning activities for HVAC, BMS, Fire Alarm, Security, or Energy Solutions systems. Perform site inspections, audits, and surveillance to ensure workmanship quality. Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, local authority requirements). Documentation & Reporting Review and approve ITPs, method statements, and inspection checklists. Maintain quality records including inspection reports, NCRs, CARs, MIRs, and test results. Prepare quality dashboard reports and KPIs for project review meetings. Support preparation of as-built documentation and handover dossiers. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions Identify, issue, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Conduct root cause analysis and ensure eective corrective and preventive actions. Verify closure of quality issues and lessons learned implementation. Audits & Compliance Support internal, customer, and third-party audits. Ensure project compliance with Johnson Controls policies, HSE requirements, and client specifications. Coordinate with certification bodies and regulatory authorities when required. Stakeholder Coordination Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and subcontractors on quality matters. Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and final inspections. Provide quality awareness and guidance to project teams. Key Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes in building systems or industrial projects Familiarity with HVAC, BMS, Fire & Security systems (Johnson Controls product experience preferred) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Strong analytical, documentation, and report-writing skills Effective communication and stakeholder management Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related discipline) 3–8 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or QA/QC Engineer in project environments Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Knowledge of relevant standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, ISO, local codes) Professional certifications (CQE, IRCA Lead Auditor, PMI-related) are an advantage Tools & Systems Quality management systems and audit tools MS Oice (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Project documentation and reporting tools ERP/Project systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent – preferred) Behavioral Expectations Commitment to Zero Defect and Right-First-Time philosophy Compliance with Safety, Ethics, and Integrity standards Proactive approach to quality risk management Collaboration across multi-disciplinary project teams Experience Level Mid Level
