Production Supervisor

A production supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. Key responsibilities include managing production schedules, supervising staff, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting problems, enforcing safety and quality standards, and reporting on production metrics. 

Core duties and responsibilities

• Manage production: Oversee daily production activities, ensure production targets are met, and coordinate the workflow.

• Supervise staff: Direct and coordinate production workers, delegate tasks, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching or training.

• Ensure quality and safety: Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, and enforce company and government regulations.

• Problem-solve: Identify and troubleshoot production issues, such as equipment malfunctions, to minimize downtime.

• Maintain equipment: Ensure equipment is functioning correctly by scheduling repairs and maintenance.

• Manage resources: Oversee inventory levels, ensure materials are flowing, and contribute to cost-reduction strategies.

• Communicate and report: Liaise with other departments, communicate expectations to staff, and report on production performance to management.
