Manufacturing Production Manager

Job Summary

The Production, Planning, Inventory & Manufacturing Excellence Manager is responsible for

overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations, including production planning, inventory

management, manufacturing excellence initiatives, process optimization, and continuous

improvement. The role ensures efficient utilization of resources, achievement of production targets,

inventory accuracy, cost optimization, quality compliance, and operational excellence across the

manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and monitor daily manufacturing activities to achieve production targets.

• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.

• Monitor production performance and take corrective actions to minimize downtime and losses.

• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, Stores, and Dispatch departments for

smooth operations.

• Ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety, HACCP, and company quality standards.

Production Planning & Control (PPC)

• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts and customer

demand.

• Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.

• Analyze production capacity and resource requirements.

• Coordinate material availability with Procurement and Inventory teams.

• Maintain production planning records, reports, and MIS.

Inventory & Stores Management

• Oversee inventory control of raw materials, packaging materials, WIP, and finished goods.

• Ensure optimum inventory levels to prevent stock-outs and excess inventory.

• Monitor inventory accuracy through regular audits and stock verification.

• Implement FIFO/FEFO practices and proper warehouse management systems.

• Analyze inventory variances and implement corrective measures.

• Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete stock.

Manufacturing Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

• Drive productivity improvement and waste reduction projects.

• Monitor and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

• Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues and implement corrective actions.

• Develop and track operational KPIs and performance dashboards.

• Promote a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Team Management

• Lead and develop Production, Planning, and Inventory teams.

• Conduct performance reviews and training programs.

• Ensure discipline, safety, and adherence to company policies.

• Foster cross-functional collaboration across departments.
