Production Manager

Position Overview:

Mahavir Transmission Limited is looking for a Production Supervisor (Rolling Mill). The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations within the rolling mill, ensuring targets for output, quality, efficiency, and safety are consistently met and should have prior experience in a rolling mill or similar metal manufacturing environment and a deep understanding of production processes, manpower handling, and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day rolling mill operations to meet production targets.

• Plan and monitor production schedules, manpower allocation, and raw material usage.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

• Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs.

• Optimize production processes to minimize downtime and waste.

• Train, guide, and motivate shop-floor personnel to achieve operational excellence.

• Maintain accurate production records and submit daily/weekly reports.

• Collaborate with the quality and maintenance teams to ensure product standards and smooth workflow.

• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Enforce discipline, safety rules, and 5S practices across the rolling mill section.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Production Engineering (preferred).

• Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a Rolling Mill / Steel / Metal Processing industry.

• Proven track record of supervising teams and achieving production efficiency targets.

• Sound knowledge of rolling mill operations, process parameters, and mechanical equipment.

• Understanding of quality management systems (ISO, 5S, TPM, etc.).

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Flexibility to work in shifts as per production requirements.
