Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead assembly operations at our Dahisar East facility, where components sourced from vendors are received, quality-checked, and assembled in-house into finished EV and power electronics products. The role is responsible for vendor supervision and quality assurance, managing the assembly line, ensuring production timelines and commitments are met, minimizing factory downtime, and driving lean manufacturing discipline (5S & 5P) across the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate day-to-day production and assembly line operations at the in-house factory

• Supervise vendors at their premises and on receipt to ensure supplied components/sub-assemblies meet IEG's drawings, specifications, and quality standards

• Conduct incoming quality checks on vendor-supplied parts, in-process checks during assembly, and final

inspection before dispatch

• Plan and oversee assembly line testing and functional validation to ensure products are working and released as per specification

• Drive strict adherence to production timelines and delivery commitments, coordinating with vendors,

procurement, and internal stakeholders

• Track and minimize factory downtime through preventive maintenance planning, root-cause analysis of stoppages, and rapid issue resolution

• Implement and sustain 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and 5P production principles

across the shop floor for a disciplined, efficient, and safe working environment

• Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with vendors for non-conformance and quality deviations

• Maintain production, quality, and vendor performance records, and prepare daily/weekly production MIS

reports for management

• Liaise with design/engineering, procurement, and quality teams to resolve production and assembly issues

• Train, guide, and supervise shop-floor staff and supervisors on SOPs, safety practices, and quality standards

• Support new product introduction (NPI), process improvements, and capacity planning on the assembly line

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) in Production, Mechanical, or Automobile Engineering, or a related field

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in production/assembly line management, preferably in EV, automotive, or electronics manufacturing

• Strong working knowledge of vendor management, supplier quality audits, and vendor development

• Practical experience implementing 5S, 5P, and other lean manufacturing / production management

methodologies

• Sound understanding of assembly line processes, production planning, and quality control systems

• Experience with root-cause analysis and downtime reduction techniques on a factory floor

• Familiarity with production documentation, MIS reporting, and quality standards/certifications

• Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to manage vendors and shop-floor teams

• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight timelines, and drive commitment-based delivery
