Plan, schedule and coordinate production activities for the shift/line to ensure output meets target quantities and quality standards.
Supervise and lead production staff (operators, packers, helpers), including training, coaching, performance review, and maintaining discipline.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, food safety protocols (such as egg-handling hygiene, traceability), and regulatory requirements (e.g., FSSAI standards).
Monitor production equipment, ensure maintenance, calibration and cleanliness; coordinate with maintenance/engineering for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
Maintain raw material (eggs, packaging etc) availability, monitor wastage, breakage/losses, ensure FIFO and minimal inventory holding.
Monitor production metrics (yield, throughput, downtime, rejects, wastage) and prepare daily/weekly production reports for the Plant/Operations Manager.
Work closely with Quality Assurance, Warehouse/Logistics, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless production-to-dispatch flow.
Implement and drive process improvements (lean production, 5S, waste reduction) to improve efficiency, reduce cost per unit and enhance output.
Ensure safe, clean and hygienic working environment for all staff. Conduct safety walks, incident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Maintain accurate records of production, shift handovers, material usage, breakdown log, and staffing.
Assist in budgeting, manpower planning (shift rosters, overtime) and cost control initiatives for the production area.
Act as the escalation point for production issues during shift and coordinate resolution.
Drive a culture of continuous learning and improvement among the production team.
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical) or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in production supervision in a manufacturing / food processing / FMCG / poultry/egg industry environment.
Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, workflow management, quality control and safety in a food-manufacturing context.
Familiarity with production machinery, equipment, breakdown handling, and preventive maintenance.
Proven ability to lead a team, manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and achieve production targets.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with ERP/manufacturing software is a plus.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, GMP, HACCP (or equivalent) is preferred.
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving mindset and a continuous improvement attitude.
