About Anand Gears

Anand Gears is a Mumbai (Bhayandar) based manufacturer of industrial gearboxes and custom gears - worm, helical and bevel - supplying OEMs and end users across India since 1996. Product families include worm reduction gearboxes (NU, NMRV, KL and Adaptable series) and custom right-angle helical-bevel units, built in-house on a full machine shop: gear hobbing, thread milling, CNC turning, HMC/VMC machining and assembly.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Production Manager to own day-to-day operations of the gear manufacturing shop - planning, machining, quality and dispatch - leading the shop-floor team and reporting directly to the partners.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan daily production and machine loading against delivery commitments across gear cutting (hobbing, thread milling), CNC and conventional turning, HMC/VMC machining and assembly

- Supervise and develop shop-floor operators and fitters: allocate jobs, monitor progress, remove bottlenecks

- Ensure in-process and final quality: interpret engineering drawings, gear measurements (MOP/MOT/span), fits and tolerances

- Coordinate castings and outsourced operations with foundries and vendors

- Plan preventive maintenance, tooling and consumables for the machine shop

- Manage dispatch, documentation and day-to-day coordination with the office

Requirements

- 8-15 years in gear manufacturing or a heavy machine shop, including 3+ years in a supervisory role

- Hands-on knowledge of gear cutting processes - hobbing essential, worm gear experience a strong plus

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process sheets

- Exposure to CNC machining (FANUC / Siemens controls)

- Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering preferred

- Fluent Hindi or Marathi; working English
