Skills & Responsibilities – Senior Merchandiser
Minimum 7 years of experience in garment manufacturing merchandising
Strong knowledge of fabrics, fabric quality, and construction/stitching techniques
Monitoring and maintaining raw material stock levels and inventory accuracy
Verifying quantity of raw materials received against purchase orders
Conducting raw material quality checks before issuing to production
Coordinating with stores/warehouse for timely material availability
Overseeing day-to-day production checks to ensure quality and quantity targets are met
Monitoring work-in-progress (WIP) to identify and resolve bottlenecks
Conducting in-line and final quality checks during production
Ensuring adherence to buyer specifications for fabric, stitching, and finishing
Managing dispatch checks: verifying quantity, packing, labeling, and documentation before shipment
Coordinating with logistics/shipping teams to ensure timely dispatch
Liaising with buyers regarding order status, approvals, and any deviations
Negotiating with vendors/suppliers for raw material pricing and lead times
Preparing costing sheets and ensuring cost control across the production cycle
Tracking order timelines from sampling to shipment to avoid delays
Coordinating between merchandising, production, quality control, and stores departments
Identifying and resolving day-to-day operational issues within the manufacturing unit
Maintaining accurate records of raw material consumption vs. production output
Reporting stock discrepancies, production delays, or quality issues to management
Ensuring compliance with buyer requirements and internal factory protocols
Strong analytical, negotiation, and vendor management skills
Ability to multitask across multiple orders/buyers simultaneously
Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments
Bachelor's degree in Textile/Garment/Fashion Technology preferred
