My Design Minds is a product design and engineering solutions company specializing in industrial design, mechanical CAD, product development, prototyping, and manufacturing support.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern who is passionate about SolidWorks, 3D CAD modelling, mechanical design, and product development.

Important: This position is ONLY for Freshers & Recent Graduates

We are specifically looking for candidates who are:

• Final-year Mechanical Engineering students

• Recent B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma graduates

• Freshers looking to start their career in mechanical/product design

• Candidates with strong academic, personal, or project-based SolidWorks experience

Candidates with significant prior full-time work experience are not being considered for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D parts, assemblies, and mechanical components using SolidWorks.

• Prepare 2D manufacturing and engineering drawings.

• Assist in mechanical and product design projects.

• Work on assemblies, mates, interference checks, and design modifications.

• Assist with sheet metal, plastic, and mechanical component design.

• Understand and apply basic DFM principles.

• Support prototyping, 3D printing, machining, and manufacturing activities.

• Maintain CAD files, BOMs, drawings, and engineering documentation.

• Work closely with senior designers and engineers on real-world projects.

Required Skills

Primary Requirement: SolidWorks & CAD Designing

Candidates should have a good understanding of:

• SolidWorks Part, Assembly and Drawing environments

• 3D modelling and sketching

• Sketch constraints and feature-based modelling

• Assemblies and basic mates

• Engineering drawings

• Dimensions, fits and tolerances

• Basic mechanical design principles

• Design intent and clean CAD modelling practices

Additional Skills – Preferred

• Sheet metal and weldments

• Plastic product design

• Surface modelling

• GD&T

• AutoCAD / Fusion 360

• 3D printing and manufacturing processes

• Basic understanding of DFM

Eligibility

• B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

• Final-year Mechanical Engineering students

• Fresh graduates / recent graduates

• Strong SolidWorks project experience will be an advantage

• Academic or personal CAD portfolios are welcome
