Job Summary:
The Bottling/Refilling Plant Incharge is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the bottling/refilling section. This includes ensuring safe handling and filling of cylinders or containers, maintaining production targets, enforcing quality and safety standards, managing manpower, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient plant functioning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management
Supervise and coordinate bottling or refilling operations in accordance with production plans.
Monitor filling processes to ensure proper quantity, pressure, and sealing.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and filling protocols.
2. Safety and Compliance
Enforce strict safety measures related to pressure handling, gas leaks, fire hazards, and emergency protocols.
Ensure compliance with government and industry regulations (PESO, OHS, etc.).
Conduct regular safety drills and inspections.
3. Quality Control
Ensure product quality (weight, pressure, sealing, and labeling accuracy).
Oversee sampling and testing (if applicable).
Report and address non-conformities or customer complaints.
4. Equipment and Maintenance
Monitor performance of filling machines, compressors, conveyors, valves, etc.
Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
Ensure calibration and upkeep of filling equipment.
5. Manpower Management
Manage and allocate work to operators and helpers in the refilling area.
Ensure proper training of workers on safety and equipment handling.
Maintain attendance, shift schedules, and productivity records.
6. Inventory and Logistics Coordination
Monitor inventory of cylinders, caps, seals, and packaging materials.
Coordinate with logistics and dispatch teams to ensure timely loading/unloading and dispatch.
Maintain filling and dispatch logs.
7. Documentation and Reporting
Maintain daily production, loss, and downtime reports.
Record incidents, safety violations, and maintenance logs.
Provide timely reports to the plant manager or higher management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Industrial Engineering, or related field.
1-6 years of experience in bottling/refilling plant operations (LPG, Beverage, Water, Industrial Gases, etc.).
Knowledge of plant safety, pressure systems, and mechanical equipment.
Familiarity with regulatory standards like PESO (India), ISO, or local authority rules.
