Responsible for operating, setting up, monitoring, and maintaining production machines to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient manufacturing of components/products as per quality standards and daily production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up machines before production cycle (loading raw materials, tools, fixtures, calibration, and parameter setting).
Operate various machines (CNC, VMC, Lathe, Milling, Grinding, Injection Molding, Press, Packaging, etc.) as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Monitor machine performance during operation — speed, temperature, vibration, and output quality.
Perform basic troubleshooting and minor adjustments to minimize downtime.
Conduct quality checks on produced parts using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Gauges, etc.).
Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance of machines.
Maintain daily production reports, machine logs, and material consumption records.
Follow all safety protocols, wear PPE, and maintain 5S in the work area.
Report any machine abnormalities, quality issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
Assist in changeover, tool setting, and loading/unloading of materials.
Qualifications & Experience:
ITI (Machinist / Turner / Fitter / Grinder / CNC) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Minimum 0–3 years of experience in machine operation (Fresher with ITI can apply for entry-level).
Experience in operating specific machines (CNC / VMC / Lathe / Injection Molding / Power Press etc.) will be an advantage.
Basic knowledge of reading engineering drawings and measuring instruments.
Skills Required:
Good technical understanding of machines and tools.
Ability to work in shifts (including night shifts in many MIDC factories).
Strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
Physically fit to stand for long hours and handle materials.
