Machine Operator

Job Summary:

            The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery used in manufacturing Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMGC). The role ensures efficient production flow, product quality, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machine Operation

·         Set up, operate, and shut down assigned machines according to production requirements.

·         Load raw materials or packaging materials into machines.

2. Production Monitoring

·         Continuously observe machine performance and product output.

·         Detect irregularities, troubleshoot minor faults, and notify technicians for major issues.

·         Maintain optimal machine efficiency and minimize downtime.

3. Quality Control

·         Perform visual inspections to ensure products meet quality standards.

·         Measure, test, and record product data as required.

·         Reject and report defective products or deviations.

4. Safety & Compliance

·         Follow all safety procedures, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and hygiene protocols.

·         Wear required PPE and maintain a clean working environment.

·         Follow company policies and standards for FMGC production.

5. Maintenance & Cleaning

·         Conduct basic machine maintenance and lubrication.

·         Clean, sanitize, and prepare equipment for changeovers or shutdowns.

·         Support maintenance teams during repairs and preventive maintenance.

6. Documentation & Reporting

·         Complete daily production reports and machine logs.

·         Record downtime, material usage, and quality checks.

·         Communicate issues or improvements to supervisors.

Required Skills:

• Diploma / ITI / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering field.

o   Good communication and interpersonal skills

o   3–7 years in machine operator, FMGC production, or related roles.

o   Experience with manufacturing/industrial machinery. ( pulverizer machine, Various Grinding machines, Food products Packing Machines, Rewinders and inkjet Industrial printers etc.,)

• Leadership and team management.

• Problem-solving and decision-making.

Preferred Skills:

o   Good analytical and problem-solving ability

o   Basic understanding of business operations and functions

o   Attention to detail and time management skills

o   Willingness to learn and adapt quickly

o   Strong understanding of mechanical & electrical systems.

o   Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.

o   Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.

o    Basic knowledge of PLC or automation systems (optional but preferred).

Key Competencies:

o   Equipment Maintenance Expertise – Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems, preventive and breakdown maintenance.

o   Troubleshooting & Diagnostics – Ability to quickly identify faults and implement effective solutions.

o   Technical Documentation – Skilled in maintaining accurate records, logs, and maintenance reports.
