· Operate and maintain plant utility systems, including chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, HVAC systems, water systems, steam distribution, and nitrogen generation/distribution.
· Ensure continuous availability of utilities required for production with minimum downtime.
· Monitor utility consumption and identify opportunities for energy conservation and cost optimization.
· Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
· Coordinate with production, QA, QC, EHS, and maintenance teams for utility-related requirements.
· Ensure compliance with cGMP, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
· Prepare and maintain SOPs, maintenance records, logbooks, calibration records, and utility documentation.
· Participate in equipment qualification, commissioning, and validation activities.
· Troubleshoot utility equipment and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
· Support audits by regulatory agencies and customers by providing required documentation and technical information.
· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment uptime, energy consumption, and maintenance effectiveness.
· Supervise contractors during maintenance and project activities.
· Ensure adherence to permit-to-work systems and safe work practices.
Qualification
· Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
· 3–8 years of experience in utility operations and maintenance within an API, pharmaceutical, chemical, or regulated manufacturing environment.
· Experience with GMP-regulated facilities is preferred.
Technical Skills
· Knowledge of boiler operations, steam systems, compressed air systems, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC, purified water, and water treatment systems.
· Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
· Familiarity with PLC/SCADA/BMS systems is desirable.
· Knowledge of cGMP, EHS, and regulatory requirements applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
· Ability to read P&IDs, engineering drawings, and utility layouts.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS/SAP maintenance systems is an advantage.
