Job Description

Location: Ambattur, Chennai

Experience: 1–3 Years

Salary: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month

Role Objective

We are seeking a disciplined VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) Operator to handle heavy-duty machining tasks. You will be responsible for setting up and operating VTL machines to produce precision components as per technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Set up and operate VTL machines to perform boring, turning, and facing operations on large-diameter workpieces.
Technical Reading: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job cards to understand dimensions and tolerances.
Tooling & Setup: Select appropriate cutting tools, jigs, and fixtures; perform tool offsets and workpiece centering.
Quality Control: Use measuring instruments (Vernier calipers, Micrometers, Bore gauges) to ensure parts meet specifications.
Maintenance: Perform routine machine cleaning and basic lubrication to ensure smooth operation.

Candidate Profile

Education: ITI in Machinist or Fitter trade.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in VTL operation within a fabrication or heavy engineering environment.
Skills: • Proficiency in operating Manual or CNC VTL machines.
- Ability to handle heavy jobs/components safely.
- Understanding of cutting speeds and feed rates for different materials.
Locality: Candidates residing in or near Ambattur are preferred.
