Job Description

  • Operate and set up lathe machines for turning, facing, threading, boring, drilling, and other machining operations.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, measurements, and machining instructions.

  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, chucks, fixtures, and work-holding devices.

  • Set machine parameters such as speed, feed, and depth of cut.

  • Measure components using vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.

  • Inspect finished components to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.

  • Make basic machine/tool adjustments to maintain required tolerances.

  • Maintain proper machine housekeeping and follow safety procedures.

  • Identify tool wear, machine abnormalities, and machining defects and report them to the supervisor.

  • Maintain production records and follow the assigned production schedule.

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and identification of raw materials and finished components.
