Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain lathe machines for shaping, cutting, and machining of metal parts.
Use shaper, milling, and rotating machines for precision manufacturing and repair of machine components.
Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required for machine maintenance and custom part creation.
Work closely with the tool room team to ensure efficient use and upkeep of tools and machinery.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders accurately.
Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance checks to ensure smooth operations.
Follow all safety guidelines and ensure a clean and organized working environment.
Support the production and maintenance team in minimizing downtime and improving process efficiency.
Lath Machine Operation:
Operate lath machines to shape, cut, and finish metal parts used in crumb rubber processing machinery.
Set up tools and materials according to job specifications and blueprints.
Measure, inspect, and test completed components to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
Maintain and calibrate machines as required for optimal performance.
Welding & Fabrication:
Perform MIG, TIG, and Arc welding on a variety of equipment parts and metal structures.
Repair or fabricate parts for machines such as granulators, shredders, conveyors, and mixers used in rubber processing.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
Ensure welded components meet structural integrity and safety requirements.
General Maintenance Support:
Assist in preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area and adhere to all safety protocols.
Record work activities, maintenance logs, and report issues to the supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills:
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical/ Fitter/ Welding or related field.
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in rubber or heavy manufacturing.
Proficient in lath machine operations and welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc).
Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, etc.).
Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious, and good problem-solving skills.
