Manufacturing Lathe Machine Operator

Key Responsibilities:

 Operate and maintain lathe machines for shaping, cutting, and machining of metal parts.

 Use shaper, milling, and rotating machines for precision manufacturing and repair of machine components.

 Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required for machine maintenance and custom part creation.

 Work closely with the tool room team to ensure efficient use and upkeep of tools and machinery.

 Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders accurately.

 Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance checks to ensure smooth operations.

 Follow all safety guidelines and ensure a clean and organized working environment.

 Support the production and maintenance team in minimizing downtime and improving process efficiency.

Lath Machine Operation:

 Operate lath machines to shape, cut, and finish metal parts used in crumb rubber processing machinery.

 Set up tools and materials according to job specifications and blueprints.

 Measure, inspect, and test completed components to ensure accuracy and quality standards.

 Maintain and calibrate machines as required for optimal performance.

Welding & Fabrication:

 Perform MIG, TIG, and Arc welding on a variety of equipment parts and metal structures.

 Repair or fabricate parts for machines such as granulators, shredders, conveyors, and mixers used in rubber processing.

 Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

 Ensure welded components meet structural integrity and safety requirements.

General Maintenance Support:

 Assist in preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment.

 Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area and adhere to all safety protocols.

 Record work activities, maintenance logs, and report issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills:

 ITI/Diploma in Mechanical/ Fitter/ Welding or related field.

 Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in rubber or heavy manufacturing.

 Proficient in lath machine operations and welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc).

 Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools (vernier caliper, micrometer, etc.).

 Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious, and good problem-solving skills.
