KNITTING DESIGNER

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Knitting Designer to join our team at our Gurugram branch. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of Knitting design tools, familiar with HQ CNC Software, key role in designing innovative knitting patterns and fabrics for our fashion-forward collections This role requires a candidate who can work both independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and verbal skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development: Research fashion trends, develop new designs as per inspirations, and create technical specifications (tech packs) for samples

• Technical Pattern Writing: Create detailed, accurate instructions (patterns) for manufacturing & knitting, including stitch patterns, measurements, and grading for different sizes.

• Material Selection: Select suitable yarns based on texture, weight, color, and functionality.

• Prototyping & Sampling: Produce initial samples or work with technicians to test and refine designs on machines.

• Collaboration: Work with merchandisers, production teams, to ensure designs align with production feasibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of knitting techniques (cable, lace, colorwork) and machine knitting software.

• Creativity & Technical Skills: Strong sketching abilities and proficiency in design software.

• Mathematics: Ability to calculate gauge, yarn requirements, and garment shaping.

• Experience: Bachelor’s degree in fashion or textile design is preferred, combined with a strong portfolio of knitwear work.
