Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) Engineer - Quality Assurance

ITP Engineer-Quality Assurance Job Summary The ITP Preparation Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and maintaining Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for API 610 pump projects in line with customer specifications, project quality requirements, applicable codes and standards, and internal quality procedures. The role ensures quality requirements are properly identified and flowed down to procurement, manufacturing, inspection, assembly, testing, and documentation activities. The position works closely with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, Project Management, Suppliers, and Customers to ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and revise ITPs for API 610 pumps and associated components Interpret customer quality requirements and incorporate them into ITPs and quality documentation Review purchase requisitions and technical procurement documents to ensure quality requirements are captured for bought-out items and raw materials Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Project teams on project-specific quality requirements Prepare inspection and test procedures for component inspection, assembly, hydro testing, performance testing, NDE, painting, preservation, packing, and final release Ensure compliance with API 610, customer specifications, and applicable codes and standards Participate in contract review, KOM, OHM, PIM, and project quality review meetings Support internal, customer, and third-party inspections by defining hold, witness, and review points Monitor specification changes and update ITPs accordingly Support closure of quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions Maintain quality records, inspection formats, and standard templates Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement of ITP preparation processes Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 3–7 years of experience in Quality, Inspection, or ITP preparation, preferably in pump manufacturing or rotating equipment Experience in API 610 pump projects preferred Required Skills Strong knowledge of API 610 pumps and pump components Understanding of inspection and testing requirements for castings, forgings, machined parts, fabricated parts, and assembled pumps Experience preparing ITPs, quality plans, inspection procedures, and project quality documents Knowledge of EN 10204 3.1 and 3.2 material certification requirements Knowledge of NDE methods such as VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT Understanding of welding, heat treatment, hydro testing, performance testing, and final inspection Working knowledge of API 610, ASME Sections V, VIII, IX, ASTM, and other relevant standards Exposure to supplier quality requirements and procurement quality flow-down Ability to identify gaps between customer requirements and project documentation Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications ASNT Level II or equivalent NDE certification Exposure to ISO 9001 quality management systems Experience with customer and third-party inspections Knowledge of ERP or project documentation systems Nuclear experience is an added advantage Behavioral Competencies Attention to detail Ownership and accountability Cross-functional coordination Customer focus Analytical thinking Continuous improvement mindset Key Deliverables Accurate and complete project-specific ITPs Timely revision and control of quality documentation Proper flow-down of customer and code requirements Reduced quality misses due to incomplete inspection requirements Effective support for project execution, inspections, and final documentation #LI-VR1 Experience Level Senior Level
