The CNC Cylindrical Grinding Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC cylindrical grinding machines to manufacture precision components as per engineering drawings and quality standards. The operator ensures dimensional accuracy, machine efficiency, and adherence to safety procedures while maintaining production targets.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC cylindrical grinding machines as per production requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets.
Select appropriate grinding wheels, fixtures, and measuring instruments.
Perform machine offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Measure finished components using precision instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, dial gauges, and height gauges.
Ensure components meet specified tolerances, surface finish, and quality standards.
Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections.
Load and unload workpieces safely and efficiently.
Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities immediately.
Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
Replace grinding wheels and dress wheels as required.
Maintain production records, inspection reports, and machine logbooks.
Follow 5S, safety procedures, and company policies at all times.
Minimize rejection, rework, and material wastage.
Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production departments to resolve process issues.
