Manufacturing Fitter

Job Title: Fitter – Manufacturing Plant

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Fitter to join our manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for machine installation, mechanical assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth operation of plant machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform fitting, assembly, installation, and maintenance of machines and mechanical equipment.

• Read and understand engineering drawings, layouts, and basic technical diagrams.

• Carry out preventive, routine, and breakdown maintenance of machinery.

• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns.

• Work with hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and fitting equipment.

• Install and maintain bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and other mechanical components.

• Perform alignment, leveling, cutting, drilling, grinding, and basic fabrication work.

• Assist in machine overhauling, replacement of damaged components, and equipment servicing.

• Inspect machines and components to identify wear, damage, or abnormal operation.

• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure tools and equipment are used safely.

• Follow plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, quality standards, and maintenance guidelines.

• Coordinate with supervisors, electricians, operators, and other maintenance team members.

• Maintain basic records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replaced components.

• Respond quickly to machine breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting and machine maintenance.

• Knowledge of pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and mechanical assemblies.

• Ability to use measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

• Basic knowledge of welding, fabrication, hydraulics, and pneumatics is an advantage.

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

• Willingness to work in shifts and in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Qualification & Experience:

• ITI/Diploma in Fitter or Mechanical Trade preferred.

• Relevant experience in a manufacturing plant, industrial maintenance, or mechanical workshop will be preferred.
