Key Responsibilities
Perform fitting, assembly, installation, and maintenance of railway wagon and mechanical components.
Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and work instructions.
Carry out fitting operations such as cutting, drilling, grinding, filing, tapping, threading, and alignment.
Assemble and dismantle mechanical parts, fixtures, tools, and equipment.
Use measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, measuring tape, gauges, and other precision tools.
Perform alignment, leveling, and dimensional checking of components.
Assist in fabrication and assembly activities related to railway wagons, bogies, underframes, and other heavy engineering components.
Identify defects or abnormalities in components and report them to the supervisor.
Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment where required.
Maintain tools, machines, and workplace in proper condition.
Follow quality standards, SOPs, PPE requirements, and plant safety procedures.
Coordinate with production, welding, quality, and maintenance teams to achieve production targets.
