Job Title: Fitter / Mechanical Fitter
Industry: Pump Manufacturing / Engineering/ Hydraulic
Experience: 1–5 years (as per requirement)
Qualification: ITI Fitter / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Job Location: Pirana, Ahmedabad & after one year Kheda

Salary: upto 25 K p.m.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, fit, and align centrifugal, mono-block, submersible, and industrial pumps

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GA drawings, and assembly layouts

• Perform shaft alignment, bearing fitting, seal fitting, and impeller assembly

• Carry out pump testing, trial runs, and leak checks

• Identify defects and carry out repair, rework, or replacement

• Use hand tools and measuring instruments accurately

• Follow safety standards (PPE, SOPs, 5S)

• Coordinate with quality, production, and testing teams

• Maintain records of work, inspections, and testing

✅ Mandatory Skills – Pump Industry (Must-Have)

🔩 Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of pump assembly & dismantling

• Understanding of centrifugal pump working principles

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Bearings (ball, roller)

  • Mechanical seals & gland packing

  • Impellers, shafts, sleeves, casings

• Shaft & coupling alignment (dial gauge / laser – added advantage)

• Experience in pump testing & troubleshooting

• Knowledge of hydro testing & performance testing

📐 Tools & Measuring Instruments

• Vernier caliper

• Micrometer

• Dial gauge

• Feeler gauge

• Torque wrench

• Spanners, pullers, hydraulic tools

📄 Drawing & Documentation Skills

• Ability to read mechanical drawings

• Understanding of tolerances & fits

• Basic documentation & checklist filling

⚙️ Safety & Quality

• Awareness of industrial safety norms

• Knowledge of ISO / QA procedures (basic)

• 5S & good housekeeping practices

🤝 Soft Skills (Important)

• Team coordination

• Attention to detail

• Willingness to work in shifts / shop floor environment

⭐ Preferred / Added Advantage Skills

• Experience in API / ISO pump standards

• Exposure to CNC / machining processes (basic understanding)

• Field service or installation experience

• Knowledge of vibration & noise troubleshooting

• It is a Full Time Manufacturing job for candidates with 4 - 6+ years Experience.
