Job Description – Fitter

Position: Fitter – Recycling Plant
Experience: 3–5 Years

Job Responsibilities

· Carry out mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance and repair of recycling plant machinery.

· Perform welding and fabrication work as required for machine and plant maintenance.

· Handle MIG/ARC welding, grinding, drilling and basic fabrication work.

· Install, align and maintain conveyors, shredders, crushers, extruders, washing lines, pumps, tanks, pipelines and other mechanical equipment.

· Attend breakdowns and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.

· Conduct machine alignment, bearing replacement, shaft work, coupling installation and mechanical adjustments.

· Read and understand basic mechanical drawings and equipment layouts.

· Carry out fabrication and modification work according to site requirements.

· Maintain proper housekeeping and follow plant safety procedures, PPE and work-permit requirements.

· Coordinate with the Maintenance and Production teams to minimize machine downtime.

Required Skills

· 3–5 years of experience as a Fitter/Mechanical Technician, preferably in a recycling, plastic processing or manufacturing plant.

· Good practical knowledge of fitting and welding work.

· Knowledge of mechanical tools, measuring instruments and fabrication equipment.

· Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns independently.

· Basic knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors and rotating machinery.

· Ability to work in shifts and during plant breakdown/shutdown activities.

Qualification

ITI – Fitter / Welder or equivalent technical qualification.
