Job Responsibilities
Perform fitting, assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of machines and mechanical equipment.
Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of production machinery.
Identify mechanical faults and troubleshoot machine-related issues.
Perform dismantling and reassembly of machine components during maintenance.
Work with bearings, shafts, couplings, gears, belts, chains, pumps, valves, and other mechanical parts.
Perform alignment, leveling, drilling, grinding, cutting, filing, and basic fabrication work.
Read basic mechanical drawings and understand machine assembly requirements.
Inspect machines regularly and identify abnormal noise, vibration, leakage, or wear.
Replace damaged or worn-out machine parts as required.
Support machine installation, shifting, and commissioning activities.
Ensure proper lubrication and routine maintenance of machinery.
Maintain tools and equipment properly and ensure workplace cleanliness.
Follow preventive maintenance schedules and update maintenance records.
Coordinate with production and electrical teams during machine breakdowns.
Follow all factory safety procedures while carrying out maintenance work.
Minimize machine downtime by responding quickly to breakdowns.
Maintain required spare parts information and inform the supervisor when critical spares are required.
Skills Required
Good knowledge of mechanical fitting and machine maintenance.
Knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
Understanding of bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, conveyors, valves, and pneumatic systems.
Basic knowledge of welding and fabrication will be preferred.
Ability to identify mechanical faults independently.
Basic understanding of preventive maintenance.
Ability to work in shifts when required.
Good discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Candidate Requirements
ITI certificate in Fitter trade.
3-6 years of experience in a manufacturing or production facility preferred.
ITI candidates with strong practical knowledge.
Physically fit and comfortable working on factory machinery.
Willingness to attend breakdowns and work overtime/shifts when required.
