Job Description – Service Engineer

Location: Ahmedabad (with PAN India site travel)

🔧 Role Overview

We are looking for a Service Engineer responsible for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of waste management machinery such as Organic Waste Compost Machines (OWC), Shredders, Trommel Screens, and related systems.

The role requires strong mechanical and basic electrical knowledge, along with the ability to handle on-site service operations independently.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

1. Installation & Commissioning

Install and commission machines at client sites across India

Ensure proper setup, alignment, and trial run of equipment

Provide initial training to operators on machine usage

2. Service & Maintenance

Perform preventive maintenance (AMC visits) as per schedule

Attend breakdown calls and resolve issues on-site

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently

3. Troubleshooting

Identify root causes of:

Shredder jamming / blade issues

Compost machine heating / blower faults

Conveyor and motor-related problems

Ensure minimal downtime and quick resolution

4. Spare Parts & Coordination

Identify required spare parts and coordinate with dispatch team

Maintain records of parts used and service history

Support inventory planning for frequently used components

5. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare service reports after each site visit

Maintain AMC logs and maintenance checklists

Submit daily/weekly reports to Service Head

6. Client Handling

Interact with clients professionally during service visits

Explain machine operations and maintenance practices

Handle complaints and ensure customer satisfaction

🛠️ Required Skills

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of:

Gearboxes, bearings, shafts, conveyors

Industrial motors, panels, and basic wiring

Ability to use tools like:

Multimeter

Hand tools (spanners, pullers, etc.)

Practical Skills

Hands-on experience in machinery installation and repair

Ability to work in industrial and municipal environments

Quick problem-solving and decision-making ability

Soft Skills

Good communication and client handling

Team coordination and reporting discipline

Willingness to travel and work on field assignments

🎓 Qualification

Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics

🚗 Additional Requirements

Willing to travel extensively (PAN India)

Basic computer knowledge (Excel, Word)

Driving license preferred
