Job Description

Fitter – Maintenance (API Plant)

Department

Engineering / Maintenance

Reporting To

Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Manager

Location: Turbhe

Qualification

ITI – Fitter (Mandatory)
NCVT/SCVT Certified preferred
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)

Experience

2–5 years of experience in a Pharmaceutical API, Chemical, or Process Industry.
Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing facilities is preferred.

Job Purpose

To carry out preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of plant equipment and utilities to ensure uninterrupted production while complying with cGMP, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance

Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of production equipment.
Repair and maintain reactors, centrifuges, dryers, micronizers, sifters, blenders, pumps, agitators, valves, pipelines, and mechanical seals.
Replace worn-out machine components such as bearings, bushes, couplings, and gaskets.
Carry out alignment of pumps, motors, and rotating equipment.

Utility Maintenance

Maintain utility equipment such as:
- Air Compressors
- Vacuum Pumps
- Cooling Towers
- Chilling Plants
- Boilers
- Thermic Fluid Heaters
- HVAC equipment
- Water distribution systems

Preventive Maintenance

Execute preventive maintenance schedules as per SOPs.
Record maintenance activities in equipment logbooks.
Assist in equipment qualification and commissioning activities.

Troubleshooting

Diagnose mechanical faults and rectify them quickly.
Minimize equipment downtime.
Coordinate with production for maintenance planning.
