Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the daily dispatch and delivery of our freshly baked cakes and other products to retail stores, corporate clients, and individual customers. This role is crucial for ensuring timely, accurate, and safe delivery of our delicate products, maintaining our reputation for quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispatch and Routing:

  • Plan and optimize daily delivery routes for multiple drivers, considering factors such as order volume, delivery location proximity, traffic patterns, and special handling instructions for fragile goods.

  • Assign delivery routes to drivers and provide them with all necessary delivery information, including addresses, contact details, and specific order notes.

  • Utilize routing software and GPS tracking to monitor driver progress and make real-time adjustments to routes as needed.

• Coordination and Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, sales team, and production staff regarding delivery schedules and issues.

  • Communicate proactively with customers or sales representatives about any delays or changes to delivery times.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve delivery problems, such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic issues, or incorrect addresses.

• Documentation and Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of all dispatches, deliveries, and returns.

  • Prepare daily manifests, invoices, and other necessary paperwork for drivers.

  • Process and verify delivery confirmations, ensuring all orders have been successfully received and signed for.

  • Monitor and track inventory levels for delivery supplies and packaging materials.

• Team and Fleet Management:

  • Manage and schedule a team of delivery drivers, ensuring they adhere to company policies and safety standards.

  • Coordinate routine vehicle maintenance and repairs with the fleet management team to ensure all vehicles are in good working condition.

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.

• Quality Control:

  • Work closely with the production and packaging teams to ensure cakes are packed securely and labeled correctly for transport.

  • Implement and enforce procedures to minimize damage to products during transit.

Qualifications:

• Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Dispatcher, Logistics Coordinator, or in a similar role, preferably within a food manufacturing, distribution, or e-commerce environment.

  • Experience with routing software, GPS tracking systems, and fleet management.

• Skills:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and basic computer software.

  • Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of orders and calls.
