A Diesel Generator (DG) Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting diesel generator sets to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate diesel generators safely and efficiently.
Start, stop, and monitor DG sets according to power requirements.
Check fuel, engine oil, coolant, battery, and other operating parameters.
Monitor voltage, frequency, load, temperature, oil pressure, and fuel consumption.
Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
Identify and troubleshoot common generator faults and abnormalities.
Maintain DG operation logs, fuel records, maintenance records, and meter readings.
Coordinate with electrical/maintenance teams during breakdowns and servicing.
Ensure proper fuel storage and prevent fuel leakage or wastage.
Keep the generator room clean, safe, and properly ventilated.
Follow electrical, fire-safety, and workplace safety procedures.
Report major faults and maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
Ensure the DG is ready for operation during power failures or emergencies.
