Job Description: Role Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic Controls & Automation Intern with basic PLC knowledge to support our controls engineering team in automation design, programming, and documentation activities. Key Responsibilities Assist in PLC programming, testing, and debugging activities under the guidance of senior engineers Support in the development and modification of HMI screens and SCADA systems Help in preparing electrical and controls documentation including I/O lists, control narratives, and wiring diagrams Assist in panel wiring verification and controls testing during machine commissioning activities Support in troubleshooting automation and controls-related issues Help maintain and organise controls program files and technical documentation Eligibility Criteria Currently pursuing or recently completed B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering from a recognised institution Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley / Siemens / Mitsubishi — any one preferred) Fundamental understanding of automation systems, control panels, and industrial wiring Basic familiarity with HMI/SCADA concepts is an added advantage Good analytical and problem-solving skills Willingness to learn and a hands-on attitude At Barry-Wehmiller we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
