The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision metal or plastic parts. This role ensures that products meet exact specifications and quality standards while maintaining efficiency and safety in the workplace.
Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, routers, or grinders) according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Load raw materials and parts into machines and ensure proper alignment and calibration.
Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from prescribed tolerances.
Perform quality inspections using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Adjust machine settings, tooling, and offsets to achieve required dimensions and finishes.
Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and production schedules.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform routine machine maintenance.
Record production data and report any equipment issues or quality problems to supervisors.
Follow all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
