Job Description – CNC Bending Operator (Press Brake Operator)

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled CNC Bending Operator with experience in operating CNC Press Brake machines for sheet metal bending operations. The candidate should be able to read engineering drawings, select suitable tooling, set machine parameters, and ensure quality production as per specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Press Brake machines for sheet metal bending operations.

• Set up and operate CNC controllers such as Delem, Cybelec, or ESA.

• Select and install suitable punches and V-dies according to material thickness and bending requirements.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, angles, and tolerances.

• Set bending programs, backgauge positions, and machine parameters as required.

• Understand material properties, springback, bend allowance, and bend deduction.

• Perform first-piece inspection and verify dimensions using vernier calipers, angle gauges, and other measuring instruments.

• Ensure accuracy of bending angles, flange dimensions, and finished components.

• Identify and troubleshoot bending defects such as angle variation, twisting, cracking, and tool marks.

• Follow production targets and maintain product quality.

• Follow all machine safety procedures and use required PPE.

• Maintain machine cleanliness, tooling, and proper housekeeping.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or relevant technical qualification preferred.

• Experience in CNC Bending / CNC Press Brake operation in a sheet metal manufacturing unit.

• Knowledge of CNC programming, machine setup, and tooling selection.

• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand bending dimensions.

• Knowledge of vernier calipers, angle measurement, and basic calculations.

• Good understanding of machine safety and quality standards.

Experience

Relevant experience in CNC Press Brake / Sheet Metal Bending operations is preferred.
