CNC Machine Operator
Summary
Computer numerically controlled (CNC) Operators are highly skilled professionals, able to work with great concentration and precision. They must be responsible and comply with all safety guidelines. A keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude are also essential. The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations.
Job Description
v Preparing and operating CNC machines to perform tasks
v Translating instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
v Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
v Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
v Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
v Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
v Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
v For each job what cutters & tips required to be informed to supervisor / share before starting the job
v After completion of each and every operation actual dimension & given dimension to be written on the drawing is mandatory.
v Record processed job entry in into job card with detail - actual time and time taken
v Inform to supervisor for machine breakdown / problem, mistaken in job, clarity.
v Check drawing and raw material also ensure job and tool is clamped firmly before start.
v Keep measuring instruments & cutting tools in safely
v Follow safety rules, use safety equipment’s
v Cleanliness to maintain in your work area ,
v Machine should be cleaned every day, do regular / daily maintenance at shift start.
v Also do regular oiling and cleaning of machine
v Do not be absent without information / permission from your supervisor.
v No gutka chewing are spitting near to work place is allowed if found penalties shall be applied.
v Mobile phone is strictly not allowed while working during working hour
v Job completion information to supervisor at shift end
v Finished part is kept safely
v Handover machine, job, tool, instruments to your supervisor / relieving operator. If any.
v Maintain identification of all materials and keep records of it.
v Should keep individual tool in cupboard properly and safely. In case of theft or damage the person should be answerable.
Requirements:
v Proven experience as CNC operator
v Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
v Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
v Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM.
v Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
v A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
v Good communication abilities
v High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus
v Successfully completed apprenticeship is required.
