CNC Operator cum Setter – ITI Machinist
Industry: Manufacturing / Engineering / Automotive Components
Job Summary
We are looking for skilled CNC Operator cum Setters with hands-on experience in CNC machine operation and setting. The candidate should be capable of independently setting machines, handling tooling, making offsets, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring quality production.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and set CNC machines as per production requirements.
Perform machine setting, tool setting and tool offset adjustments.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.
Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures and machining parameters.
Load and edit CNC programs as required.
Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks.
Use Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge and other measuring instruments.
Monitor machine performance and maintain production targets.
Identify and rectify basic machining and setting-related issues.
Replace cutting tools and make necessary offset corrections.
Maintain dimensional accuracy and minimize rejection/rework.
Follow production schedules, quality standards, 5S and safety procedures.
Maintain machine, tooling and production-related records.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on knowledge of CNC machine operation and setting.
Knowledge of tool offsets, work offsets and tool changes.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Knowledge of machining processes and cutting tools.
Good knowledge of measuring instruments.
Basic CNC programming/editing knowledge will be an advantage.
Ability to work independently and achieve production targets.
